10/10 week :)

Hello!!! I cannot believe that tomorrow is DECEMBER. Our Christmas tree is up and we are listening to Christmas music! It is in full swing here in warm Florida!! This will be the second Christmas in a row without a jacket or snow! CRAZY!

This week was definitely one to remember!! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!! Here are some quick highlights!!

-we are teaching 2 more of Marie's sisters! They are the sweetest and loved hearing about the Plan of Salvation! -this past week we found Maximo a best friend from the branch and WOW him and his sweet wife Rosalida are progressing like CRAZY! We taught the Restoration for the second time and every time Rosalida would ask a question, Maximo would put his hand on her shoulder and explain it to her. WHAT. He told us last night he knows the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet:) I love seeing how people grasp onto the true doctrine of Christ. It is one of the biggest blessings from being on a mission!!

-we had the BEST district Thanksgiving! It was a party and a half to say the least. I made a half court granny shot and thought papa King would be proud haha!

-emma and angelee get baptized this saturday!! They are so excited and we could not be happier for them! We had some super awesome lessons this week and they are just loving it all. It is so great to see how simple the gospel really is.

I don't have too much time left but I wanted to share something that really stuck with me with this:) God sent you here to prepare for a future greater than anything you can imagine.” That future, a day at a time, comes alive when you do more than just exist; it comes alive when you live your life to fill the measure of your creation. This invites the Lord into your life, and you begin to let His will become yours. Because you are His child, He knows who you can become. He knows your fears and your dreams. He relishes your potential. He waits for you to come to Him in prayer. Because you are His child, you not only need Him, but He also needs you.

That is crazy long, but wow. Everyday we are preparing ourselves for the future God has in store for us. We are HIS children. He has a PERFECT plan for us. He loves us. He knows us. He knows what is happening in our lives. He wants to help us. He understands us. Life can be crazy. Life can be hard. But something that doesn't change is God's perspective on us. We are everything to Him. I can promise you that if you each pray for Gods love, he will ANSWER you in the way that YOU need.

Being on a mission I have seen the power of God's love and Christ's Atonement change lives. It's the same love and the same Atonement that changes each of us. You all are amazing and I love you:)

 Love, Hermana King:)

#GIVETHANKS

Well what a week it's been in Largo, Florida!!

ALSO WOW HAPPY THANKSGIVING THIS WEEK!! It was a MIRACLE packed week :) Everyday on my mission helps me realize how involved God is with each individual life of every person!! Well here are a few highlights:)

-MAXIMO AND ROSALIDA came to church and we had the best lesson with them and now Maximo is best friends with one of our SWEETEST members!!

-okay we FINALLY started teaching Mia's dad! He wanted to join one of our lessons and came out and sat down! Hermana Breshears and I sat down and made a little jingle alllll about the Restoration and we taught it to ALLL of Mia's family! We made Magaly and Martin even sing it back to us! We had the best time to say the least haha! The kiddos were singing it the whole rest of the night! And we were prettyyyyy proud of the jingle haha!! A little too proud but..haha -we taught the jingle to the two 8 year old twins we are helping understand baptism and they LOVED IT. The mom is getting back to church as well which is the BEST!!

-ALRIGHTY!! BIG NEWS. We had TWO PEOPLE commit to be baptized this week!!! The first one of our friends is named Marie! You all know her but she wants to get baptized!! She is set for December 15th!! Her birthday is the 14th and she was so excited to be baptized the day after!!! -next baptismal miracle!! Okay so our other friend on date is RONAK!! A few months ago we were sooo close to getting Ronak a baptismal date but then he got corona:( BUT we got a text a few days ago saying they want Ronak to get baptized January 2nd!!! We could not be more excited!!!!

-last but not least, how COOL was hearing President Nelson pray?! I have never heard a prophet pray and that was the sweetest thing ever! I am SO grateful for a living prophet! I have absolutely loved seeing everyone's #givethanks posts!! Talk about of FLOOD OF GOODNESS.

As for the spiritual thought I wanted to share with you all is from an Elder Uchtdorf talk called "Believe, Love, Do" and it says: "The good news is, there is hope. There is a solution to the emptiness, vanity, and Weltschmerz of life. There is a solution to even the deepest hopelessness and discouragement you might feel."

I love this SO MUCH. I love telling new people we teach about the HOPE that our message brings. There is also good news, we always have hope and we will always have Christ. There is a SOLUTION and as members of the church, we have the solution:)

I just want to tell each of you how GRATEFUL I am for you. Thank you for your support, thank you for your love and THANK YOU for your example:) I SURE LOVE YOU ALL.

Love, (you so much) Hermana King :))

Evacuated?? Hurricanes??

Well! THIS WEEK WAS CRAZY. We were at the mission office 3 different times this week!

Here are some highlights!!!
-transfers this week and Hermana Marler was transferred to Sarasota and WOW THAT WAS SAD. I had been with Hermana Marler the whole time I've been in Florida! SO CRAZY. It was hard saying goodbye!!
-Hermana Breshears and I are still together and WOW SHE IS THE BEST. We have the FUNNEST time together and I have never seen a missionary so ready to work. She came to the field so ready!
-we also switched apartments with the Elders because we got TWO MORE SISTERS in the branch!
-alright so WEDNESDAY came around and we got a call to EVACUATE to Tampa immediately because of Hurricane Eta. We spent a little over a day there and then came home!
-we had some MIRACLES happen. We had spent so long planning every morning because we really wanted to see the people we felt like we should. ALL of our planned lessons this week fell through. BUT wow. After every planned lesson with our progressing friends fell through, one of our friends that weren't progressing would call! We had lessons with ALL of our friends that hadn't been progressing. It was the craziest thing. We really, REALLY saw the hand of the Lord in our work this week.
-our cute friend Mia got to come to church! It has been SO fun going back to church!! What a blessing it has been to see people in person AND partake of the sacrament!
-last night we met with a sweet less active family that has two of the CUTEST twin girls who are 8. We met with them and after we played a little get to know you game, the mom asked how we could help the 2 girls get baptized. They got SO EXCITED! We are super excited for cute Emma and Angelee to get baptized in just a little over 2 weeks!!
-our friend Marie has been progressing SO WELL. We have a lesson with her tonight and we are hoping to get her on date. She has such a strong desire to learn and to grow! It is AMAZING to watch!!

This week has been ONE TO REMEMBER! From transfers to evacuating to moving apartments has made for QUITE a week. I wanted to share my mission scripture with you all today:) it is Moroni 7:33
"And Christ hath said: If ye will have faith in me ye shall have power to do whatsoever thing is expedient in me."
I LOVE THIS. We talk about how this gospel is a message of hope and WOW this scripture gives me so much hope. This is a promise directly from our Savior, Jesus Christ. He promises that when we have faith in Him, we have ALL that we need. That is a promise I want to re extend to all of you:) have faith in yourself, have faith in Christ:)

I LOVE YOU ALL!!!

Hermana King:)

Pig skins, oysters & changes..OH MY!!

Wow. Holy cow!!! Well by the title of this email you could probably tell that this week has been an ADVENTURE!!! I tried pig skin anddddd oysters haha! No worries, it was not in the same sitting haha! It was good!!!

Alright well this week is TRANFERS and we got our news this morning!! Sit tight, there's a lot!!! My sweet best friend, Hermana Marler (who I have been with since JUNE) is leaving and we are SO SAD. She will be headed to a quad which will be so fun for her!!! It's been FIVE super great months and I can't believe we're actually splitting up!! Well...Hermana Breshears and I are still together so I'll keep training her here in Largo!!! The second part of the crazy news is that Hermana Breshears and I are SWITCHING apartments with the Largo elders! Why?? Well! We will be getting a THIRD companionship in Largo! We will be moving into a bigger apartment and we'll be living with 2 new sisters!! YAY!! We are so excited about it!!! One of the new sisters coming in just got called to be a Sister training leader as well so I'll be training her too! We are SO PUMPED for a new transfer and a whole lot of adventures ahead!!!!

As far as this week goes, WOW. I wanted to share some highlights from the week!!
-we had the coolest experience with Victor and his family last night! We started teaching his 19 year old nephew named Axel, his sister Raquel and her husband Angel! And wow are they special. During the lesson we talked about the Holy Ghost and Angel said he had only ever felt the spirit in 2 or 3 specific experiences. We had an amazing conversation about Gods love and the Holy Ghost and how we can feel them! At the end of the lesson we asked Axel to say the prayer! He started praying and stopped a few seconds in..he had started crying and the spirit was just overwhelmingly strong! After he said Amen, we looked at Raquel and she began to cry as well. Angel looked at us and told is that that was an experience he'll never forget because it was the 4th time he had ever really felt the Spirit. They are such GOLDEN children of God and they are so ready for the gospel!
-we met with our sweet new friend Marie and WOW she is amazing!! We asked her how she thought it would feel to have Jesus Christ back in her life and she told us it would feel right. We then asked her how she felt/thought about sitting there with us and she looked at us with the biggest smile and told us she knew it was right! SHE IS AMAZING. We had a few other awesome lessons with her:)
-on Thursday I hit ONE YEAR on the mission!! What an adventure it's been and wow I am so extremely grateful for everyday of this past year!!!!
-well I talked about the bed bugs last week and this past Wednesday we were officially CLEARED to leave the apartment! It was so extremely nice to leave and get some fresh air but above all, SEE OUR FRIENDS. Oh man it was great!!!
-we also WENT TO IN PERSON CHURCH!! I went to an in person sacrament meeting for the first time since February and the spirit was SO STRONG. I think my favorite part was singing the hymns. There is something about sitting there with OTHER PEOPLE and being able to sing all together! It's definitely something I would have never thought would've been a big highlight!

This week was a 10/10 and I cannot wait for this upcoming week! Thank you for all the sweetest messages and emails this past week!!!!

My thought for this week is from 3 Nephi 19:26! This is when Jesus was visiting the multitudes in the Americas. He had come and blessed every single one of them and after he had spent time with them he spoke to them! And this is something he said,
"And Jesus said unto them: Pray on; nevertheless they did not cease to pray."

I LOVE THIS. As missionaries, something we ALSO focus on with our sweet friends is the POWER of prayer. If we want to know something is true, we pray. If we need comfort in times of need, we pray. If we need answers to our questions, we pray. Christ could have said anything to the people but his focus was on PRAYER. This hit me so hard this week as I have been studying about when Christ came to the Americas after his resurrection! The power of prayer is real. I know that every one of our prayers is heard and that we have a Father in Heaven and a Savior who are waiting to bless us, to help us and to love us. All we need to do is PRAY. My invitation for this week is the same invitation Jesus told the people, PRAY ON. This week, please PRAY. Everyday I invite you to kneel in pray and talk with your Father in Heaven. I promise you He is there. I promise you that your prayers are heard and I promise you that His love for you is unimaginably strong. So this week, pray on. :)

Wow, I love you all so so much!!!! I really hope this upcoming week is one to remember! It has been hot and sunny here with a few days and pouring rain!! Definitely not the November I'm used to!!

Love you all!!!!

Love,
Hermana King :))

They let the bedbugs bite!

Wow! Hi everyone! It's now officially Christmas music time so everyone better listen to Mariah Carey for me hahah! I hope you all had the best week! And wow HALLOWEEN, I hope it was great!!!!

Alright I don't even know where to start with this week! So much happened! Here are some highlights:)

-well, we found THREE new friends this week and we feel so confident with ALL THREE! Guess who one of our new friends is? MIA'S DAD!!! We finally were able to start teaching Martín and wow is he awesome. We even got to teach a lesson with their WHOLE family this past week!!
-OKAY BIG NEWS LIKE DROP THE MIC BIG NEWS!!!! We got an email from our branch President and CHURCH OPENED UP!!!! We had our first in person meeting on Sunday!!!! I was so unbelievably STOKED!!!
-our buds Maximo and Rosalida were there 10 minutes early IN PERSON!!!! How cute?! They showed up and one of our sweet branch missionaries went up and helped them with everything! THE LARGO BRANCH IS AMAZING TO SAY THE LEAST. Rosalida and Maximo are doing super awesome, thank you for your prayers!!! They are appreciated!!!!
-we were able to take some family Halloween pictures for the James family!!! They were characters from Peter Pan and OH MY they are just adorable!!! You can tell in the picture the lengths we went to for the pictures hahaha!!
-also!! I had exchanges with cute Sister Leiseth and we just had a GRAND OL time:) we decorated some fun Halloween cupcakes and I don't think I've ever laughed harder. She is such an amazing missionary and I definitely felt like I learned more from her during the exchange than the other way around :) SO MUCH FUN.
-HALLOWEEN! we dressed up as triplets haha! I thought we were prettyyyyyy clever if I do say so myself haha!! We had the CRAZIEST day Saturday! Here's a little story time...on Saturday we also had a few social media meetings with our social media leadership missionaries! We spent a few hours in meetings and then afterwards, we went to our Branch Presidents house to help their family with a Halloween party!!! Awhile into being there we get a call....turns out that some of the social media elders came in contact/have bed bugs and so everyone in the WHOLE ZONE (because of all the meetings we had all together)had to be quarantined because then we all came in contact with some missionaries that came in contact with bed bugs...haha if that makes any sense! SO Saturday night we came home, changed and showered right away and started the big checklist of everything we were supposed to do! We then got a message that we were NOT allowed to leave our houses or use our cars until we hear an update! And because it was the weekend we couldn't get cleared...which meant we couldn't go to in person church yesterday! Ahh it was so sad!!! We spent the whole day inside and had church and meetings virtually! So grateful that we all already know how to do it all from our phones! We called a lot of people and we definitely made the most of it:) my comps are SO FUN so it was a grand ol time:) we are still in our apartment and we are only allowed the leave once today for Walmart! Never have we ever been so grateful for Walmart!!! Haha!!

WHAT A WILD WEEK RIGHT?? Thanks to the bed bugs, this is definitely a week to remember hahaha!!

WELL I am SUPER EXCITED to share something I found in my studies this week :)

"If we give our heart to God, if we love the Lord Jesus Christ, if we do the best we can to live the gospel, then tomorrow—and every other day—is ultimately going to be magnificent, even if we don’t always recognize it as such. Why? Because our Heavenly Father wants it to be! He wants to bless us. A rewarding, abundant, and eternal life is the very object of His merciful plan for His children! It is a plan predicated on the truth “that all things work together for good to them that love God.” So keep loving. Keep trying. Keep trusting. Keep believing. Keep growing. Heaven is cheering you on today, tomorrow, and forever."
-Elder Holland

Wow right? I LOVE THIS. I also definitely needed to hear this quote this week. All our Heavenly Father asks for is our effort, and hello(!!) each of us can do that:) I believe in each of us!! The point of this life we have on earth is to receive the blessings God has in store for us, right? Eternal families, eternal life, eternal HAPPINESS, growth--these are all blessing from our Heavenly Father. We are given blessings day to day, hour by hour and minute by minute. It's up to each of is to decide to see them :)

I haven't given a challenge in a few weeks but BOOM they're back :) My challenge to you is this: write in your journal EVERY NIGHT this week and state 4 little miracles, blessings, happy things, gifts that God has given you. I can promise you that when you sit down and REALLY, SINCERELY think about it, 4 will be the minimum of things you think of.

I love each of you and OH BOY so does our Heavenly Father!!!

Have the best week!!!!!

All my love:)
Hermana King!
